Disney+ is a popular streaming service launched by The Walt Disney Company in November 2019. Offering a wide range of content from Disney's extensive library, as well as new and original productions, the platform quickly gained millions of subscribers around the world.

As part of the launch and ongoing promotion of the service, I had the opportunity to work on various creative projects, designing assets for email campaigns, social media, and other digital channels. Working closely with the marketing team in London and the New York team, I helped to develop and execute marketing campaigns that drove engagement and awareness of Disney+ among audiences in different regions, including the US and Europe.

Onboarding Campaign

As a designer for the Disney+ launch in November 2019, I was responsible for designing the onboarding emails aimed at encouraging users to start streaming content. These emails were crucial in introducing users to the service and highlighting its key features, as well as showcasing the vast catalogue of content available to stream. To achieve this, I created custom-designed assets and icons that were incorporated into the email designs, making the content visually engaging and easy to understand.

Furthermore, I had to localise the content for the US and European markets, making sure that the emails reflected the different cultural nuances and preferences of each region. This required close collaboration with the regional marketing teams to ensure that the designs were appropriate for each market.

The resulting onboarding emails were well-received and contributed to the successful launch of Disney+. The design elements helped to capture the attention of users and draw them into the service, highlighting its unique features and extensive content library.

Netherlands Email Marketing

As part of the Disney+ marketing team, I designed a series of engaging email campaigns for the Netherlands market, aimed at introducing new users to the platform’s latest and most popular content. These campaigns were a key part of our overall strategy to drive user engagement and retention.

To achieve this, I worked closely with the marketing team to identify key content releases and develop messaging that would resonate with our target audience. I then designed visually striking and impactful email templates that would stand out in users’ inboxes and encourage them to explore and stream the featured content.

One of my key focuses was on showcasing new and upcoming content in a unique and engaging way. To achieve this, I utilised custom-designed graphics and animations to create a sense of excitement and anticipation around new releases. The resulting campaigns were highly successful, driving significant engagement and contributing to the overall success of the Disney+ service in the Netherlands.

Display Banners

As part of my work on the Disney+ launch, I created a variety of display banners that were used across multiple platforms and devices to promote the service and highlight new content releases. One notable example was the Avatar release, for which I designed a range of engaging and visually impactful banners that were displayed across a variety of websites and social media channels. I ensured that the designs were optimised for different screen sizes and formats, and worked closely with the marketing team to ensure that they aligned with the overall brand messaging and campaign objectives. The resulting banners were well-received by audiences, contributing to increased awareness and sign-ups for the service.
